2022 ITF World Champs Update

2022 ITF World Champs

2022 ITF World Championships

Dear members, here is the latest update from the ITF in regards the upcoming  2022 ITF World Champs to be held in Amsterdam, Holland between 26th July – 1st August, 2022.

ITF has officially announced that there will NOT be a coloured belt competition running in conjunction with the 2022 ITF World Championships.

All persons wishing to compete in the 2022 ITF World Championships MUST be an ITF Certified Black Belt at the time of National selection trials, with ITF status card (valid past August 2022), and YOUR SCHOOL meeting ALL United ITF affiliation and membership requirements for 2022.

As mentioned by the Tournament Director, Sabum Justin Chin, we are aiming to hold selections around March 2022 – actual date and location is pending the expressions of intent response from instructors.

Most people planning to attempt degree promotion between selection trials and the World Championships, are advised to let the United ITF Executive and Tournament Director know prior to testing, to ensure it does not jeopardise your participation in the World Championships.

We advise you make arrangements from now if you need to renew or obtain an Australian Passport, arrange vaccination, organize leave notice for your employer or education institution, and any other items critical to travel in the last week of July, 2022.

United ITF events are back

United ITF Events are back in Australia

United ITF events

After a tough 12 months across the Globe, not just in the Taekwon-Do community, but across all sectors, we are pleased to announce United ITF Events are back in person.

With Australia doing such a great job in containing and controlling the spread of COVID-19, it has allowed us the luxury of returning to face to face ITF events, when much of the World is still heavily restricted or locked down.

After months of zooming or glooming, we are finally back in action.

We have scheduled ITF seminars, ITF tournaments, gradings and social events where we can all get together once again, and celebrate Taekwon-Do.

We look forward to seeing you all in person, in dobok on the dojang floor and competition mats.

Upcoming ITF Events in Australia include:

2016 ITF National Championships

ITF National Championships 2

The 2016 ITF National Championships was held in Caroline Springs, Victoria on Saturday 19th March.

An historic event, it celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the formation of the International Taekwon-Do Federation.

The 2016 ITF National Championships featured competitors from all Australian states as well as New Zealand, participating in events such as Sparring (combat), Patterns (Pre-choreographed routines), Special Techniques (Spectacular aerobatic board breaking) and Power Breaking (measuring the strongest breaks)

In addition to many juniors and beginners, the event included a high percentage of entrants who are current and recent World Champions and as expected, the matches were of a very high standard, conducted in a great spirit.

Thank you to all who came along and supported the event, particularly those who helped out as volunteers and officials on the day.
